Grandaddy's
Signs4SA successfully completed a large-scale signage project for Grandaddy’s, Zimbabwe’s largest bottled water company. The project required a high-impact, durable branding solution suitable for outdoor industrial and commercial exposure.
The signage was designed as a 3D fabricated illuminated structure, combining galvanised metal construction with Perspex lettering to ensure strength, visibility, and long-term durability. Special attention was given to structural engineering due to environmental conditions in the region.
A unique feature of this installation was its cyclone-resistant design. The signage was engineered with a mechanical folding system, allowing the structure to retract backward within minutes in the event of severe weather conditions. This system included a reinforced arm mechanism mounted on wheels and locking pins to ensure secure positioning during both normal operation and emergency retraction.
The final build also included red aluminium composite material (ACM) cladding installed onto the wall surface, providing a strong branded background finish. The logo was fabricated using 5mm Perspex and internally illuminated with high-quality LED lighting for enhanced night visibility and brand impact.
Additional detailing included translucent vinyl graphics applied to the face of the fabricated logo, improving colour accuracy and visual depth while maintaining illumination performance.
Signs4SA managed the full project lifecycle, including manufacturing, material procurement, packaging, logistics, and international transport coordination between ports. Our team also worked closely with shipping agents and project stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and compliance with cross-border requirements.
Finally, our installation team coordinated on-site execution in Zimbabwe, ensuring safe assembly, alignment, and full operational testing of the cyclone-resistant system. The result was a high-performance illuminated signage structure built for both branding impact and environmental resilience.
